I just bought a computer. I want to use my old speaker that is better than the new one. I just plug it in the new system and doesn't work. In old system, that is an integrated mother board; however, there is a sound card with the system. Is there something I can do or change in the system to make the speaker work? By the way, the new speaker works in new system. My sound card is Trident card, my old speaker is JBL pro.
I appreciate your help.
My question is I want to use my old speaker in my new system. The old speaker came with my first computer, Compaq computer(old computer). The sound chip is built in mother board in old computer. My second computer that I just bought last month(new computer) also has a set of speakers(new speaker), but sound card is plugged on mother board.
I just want to use my old speaker that is better than new speaker. The old speaker is plugged on new system, but cannot work.(no sound at all).
I wonder if the sound card in new computer doesn't support the old speaker.
Thanks for your help
I've got some suggestions below, but I'm not sure wether it helps or not. Just for your reference.
a. Get both speaker sets (Old and New one) connected to sound card's "Line In" of your new PC one by one. If one set of the speaker has sound, that's to prove the Sound card settings are definitely correct on your new PC. If there's only one speaker set works, go back to your PC vendor for help.
b. If both speaker sets don't work, get the sound card insalled on your old PC.(Remember to disable on board audio from BIOS of your old PC). Do again the above step on old PC. That's to prove if the sound card is ok.
Good Luck!!
